CL4020, TD-SCDMA 3G RF transceiver developed by Comlent, ranked
as the only local IC design house winner among the 10 “Technical
Innovation Prize” for “2006 Annual Analog/Mix
IC Products” nominated by Electronic Engineering &
Product World (EEPW, major Chinese science & technology
journal with national authority);
Paper on CL4020, world’s first dual-band CMOS TD-SCDMA
transceiver, has been accepted by IEEE International Solid
State Circuit Conference (ISSCC), the show case chip design
conference. This is also the first time ever that a China
based company is recognized by this technical summit of global
chip design community for demonstrating the world-class result
of a major chip in whole.
“Prize of Annual Technical Contribution” entitled
by 2007 China Communications Industry technology Annual Conference.
The news that Comlent released its TD-SCDMA RF transceiver
has been listed among “2006 Top 10 Milestone News”
recommended by China Electronics News: “Comlent-developed
CMOS chipset, RF transceiver CL4020 and ABB CL4520, can well
support the TD baseband solutions of all major local BBIC
vendors including Spreadtrum, Datang, T3G, Commit and CYIT.
This breakthrough lifts China’s final bottleneck of
domestic TD-SCDMA equipment and chip supplying chain”.
2006
Comlent CEO, Dr. Kai Chen, ranked in“10 Annual Industry
Innovators” selected by 2006 Annual Economic Conference
of China IT Industry. The nomination remark is “by catching
the opportunity of TD-SCDMA, Chinese 3G, he has built a strong
team with rich experience on RFIC design, marketing and management,
which has contributed a lot to China’s TD-SCDMA industry
by successfully having made up the industry weakness, i.e.
RFIC area, and having broken the monopoly of foreign companies
in this area”.
The 1st and major authorized RFIC member/supplier voted by
TD-SCDMA Industry Alliance (TDIA) panel.
Comlent as a typical case, remarked by Morgan Stanley in
its recent research report on China local IC industry:”
We were impressed with the level of innovation, aggressiveness,
and motivation of the emerging fabless semiconductor and design
services companies in these regions“.
Dr. Kai Chen ranked in “9 Annual Innovation Pioneers
for Chinese-owned Hi-tech Industry” entitled by Pudong
Government of Shanghai.
Prize of “1st Greater China RF Client for Mass Production
of 1 Million Milestone” entitled by Jazz Semiconductor
Inc..
2005
Comlent as Director Member of IC Design Sub-association of
China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA);
Comlent ranked in the “20 IC Design Houses with Greatest
Potential in China” listed by the top international
semi-industry magazine EETimes 20th Anniversary Volume.
PHS handsets RF solution, “Xia” Chip developed
by Comlent, selected into “6 Annual R&D Achievements
for China Semiconductor Industry” issued by the 2004
annual report of CSIA.
Comlent as the only authorized project owner for Chinese
National Special Project of “TD-SCDMA 3G Standard RFIC
R&D and commercialization” co-organized and managed
by Ministry of Information Industry (MII), Ministry of Science
and Technology (MST), National Development and Reform Commission
of PRC (NDRC).
Comlent as Director Member of Shanghai Integrated Circuit
Association (SICA).
2004
Dr. Kai Chen was entitled the "Men of China IC Industry's
1st Decade Anniversary Start-up" Award by CSIA.
Comlent was reported by Wall Street Journal as “Excellent
Sample of Drafting an Industry from the Ground Up in China”,
driven by its successful delivery of “1st RFIC with
Chinese-owned core IP” which represents a significant
breakthrough in the growth of greater China’s IC design
industry.
Dr. Kai Chen was recommended as an innovation pioneer among
the feature report of “25 Most Influential Pioneers
in China’s IC Industry” by China High Technology
Enterprises Bi-monthly.
2003
Comlent as the only authorized project owner for “863
Project” of “PHS Standard RFIC R&D and commercialization”
organized and managed by Ministry of Science and Technology
(MST).
2002
The Minister of French Ministry of Science and Technology
remarked “China is growing a giant in Science and Technology”
after her visit to Comlent (reported by famous French newspaper
Le Figaro);
Comlent, China’s 1st local RFIC design house, was established
at Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park, Pudong, Shanghai.
To date, Comlent has accumulatively invested more than 120
million RMB into R&D.
